An industrial port hotel converted, facing the North Shore mountains and the seaplanes taking off every ten minutes.
Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier
From

“Private balconies in every room, direct view over the Burrard Inlet and the cargo ships entering Vancouver port.”
The Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier occupies the former North Vancouver pier, five minutes by ferry from downtown. We sleep facing the mountains of the north shore, our gaze on the Harbour Air seaplanes and the container ships passing offshore. The rooms are spacious, contemporary light-wood and glass décor, deep balconies with loungers. The indoor pool overlooks the port, open until 22h. The Lobby restaurant serves a correct Pacific Northwest menu without being memorable, we prefer to cross over to dine in Gastown. From 421 € a night, good value for Vancouver if we accept being out of the centre. The service is efficient, the clientele mixes Canadian families and business travellers fleeing the rates of Coal Harbour ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Pinnacle to travellers who want the view without paying downtown rates, and to families who appreciate the space (rooms of 35 m² minimum, supervised pool). It is also a business address for those working on the North Shore or at the port, with meeting rooms and reliable Wi-Fi. Couples seeking urban romance will prefer the Fairmont or the Rosewood downtown, here the atmosphere remains functional.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The building dates from 1999, contemporary port architecture in glass and steel, eight stepped floors to maximise the views. Neutral interiors, grey carpet, maple woodwork, Crate & Barrel furniture. Two-level glazed lobby with central fireplace and leather sofas. The rooms have 2.70 m ceilings, sliding bays opening onto the balconies, black granite bathrooms. The whole is well maintained, renovated floor by floor between 2018 and 2021.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The Lobby Restaurant & Lounge serves a Pacific Northwest menu (sockeye salmon, halibut, Alberta beef) in a glazed room facing the port. Correct buffet breakfast at 28 CAD, well-executed eggs Benedict. The bar offers 40 Canadian whiskies and a classic cocktail list, calm atmosphere after 21h. Room service available until 23h, reduced but efficient menu. We recommend crossing by SeaBus to dine in Gastown or Chinatown if seeking more culinary ambition.
