The Hilton in Barra da Tijuca bets everything on functionality and its business location, twenty minutes from Rio's historic centre.
Hilton Barra Rio de Janeiro
From
88.416 €
“Rates from **88 €** per night in a 5★ international chain hotel in Rio, pool and fitness included.”
The Hilton Barra Rio de Janeiro occupies a modern building on Avenida Engenheiro Carlos Carvalho, in the business district of Barra da Tijuca. We are far from Copacabana and Ipanema, but close to the convention centres and the Olympic Park. The rooms follow the Hilton standard: beige carpet, correct bedding, functional desk, light marble bathrooms. The outdoor pool offers a welcome respite after meetings, the fitness centre is equipped without surprises. The service remains professional, the clientele mostly corporate. At 88 € per night, it is a solid base for a business or family stay without pretension, but we do not come here for the carioca soul.
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend this hotel to business travellers on the move in Barra da Tijuca, to families seeking a functional base to explore the west of Rio, and to regulars of international chains who favour predictability. It is an address for those with appointments in the neighbourhood or visiting the Olympic Park, not for romantics in search of colonial charm. Couples without children will prefer Ipanema or Santa Teresa.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Hilton Barra occupies a contemporary tower typical of the Barra da Tijuca business district, built in the 2010s. Glass and concrete architecture, spacious lobby with polished marble floor, indirect lighting. The rooms span several levels, some with ocean views in the distance, others overlooking neighbouring buildings. The whole prioritises functionality over ornamentation, in the vein of urban Hiltons.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The hotel restaurant offers an international menu without particular signature: grills, pasta, composed salads, a few Brazilian dishes at lunch. The breakfast buffet covers the standards (tropical fruits, tapioca, pão de queijo, charcuterie, pastries). The lobby bar serves classic cocktails and decent caipirinhas until 11pm. Room service operates 24 hours a day, reduced menu after midnight.
