We slept in a 38 m² room with Hungarian oak parquet, restored original mouldings, grey Carrara marble bathroom. The top-floor spa offers unobstructed views over the rooftops of the 1st district, 15-metre pool, La Prairie treatment cabins. The restaurant offers a contemporary Austrian menu, impeccable service but no star yet. From 425 € per night, we recommend for an opera weekend or a well-being escape in historic Vienna. The hotel occupies a Ringstrasse building from 1863, Gründerzeit era, fully renovated in 2023 for its opening under Relais & Châteaux banner. Preserved neo-Renaissance façade, interiors redone in contemporary palace style with restored mouldings, Hungarian oak parquet, Carrara marble. 3.80-metre ceilings in rooms, original limestone staircase. Six storeys, 71 rooms and suites from 32 to 85 m².

The restaurant offers a contemporary Austrian menu, local produce, cellar of 400 Austrian and Hungarian references. Breakfast buffet served until 11am, 24/7 room service. The Amauris stands on Kärntner Ring, corner with Kärntner Strasse, opposite the State Opera. Innere Stadt district, historic heart of Vienna, Stephansplatz 8 minutes on foot, Hofburg museums 10 minutes. Karlsplatz metro station 3 minutes, Vienna-Schwechat airport 25 minutes by CAT. The area buzzes until 10pm, very touristy but residential on adjacent streets.
