The resort stretches across three low Thai-contemporary buildings, gently sloping roofs, white façades punctuated by dark wood. Built in 2012, renovated in 2019, the ensemble respects local regulations (no building exceeds coconut-palm height). Light interiors with polished stone floors, teak furniture, textiles with geometric patterns inspired by northern Thai craftsmanship. The 99 rooms and suites are divided between sea view, garden view and direct pool access.

Mai Khao occupies the far north of Phuket, 35 km from Patong and its nocturnal bustle. The resort sits on the edge of Sirinat national park, a protected zone where sea turtles nest. The international airport is 4 km away, a 10-minute drive, convenient for late arrivals or early departures. Mai Khao village, 2 km away, has a few local restaurants and a night market on Fridays. To reach Phuket Town or the southern beaches, allow 45 minutes by taxi (around 800 bahts).
