32-storey tower plugged into BTS Phaya Thai, for those who want Bangkok without wasting an hour in traffic jams.
Eastin Grand Hotel Phayathai
From
159.184 €
“Direct connection to BTS and Airport Rail Link from the lobby, drop the suitcases and head to Sukhumvit in twelve minutes.”
The Eastin Grand Hotel Phayathai occupies a glass and steel tower at the Ratchathewi crossroads, a stone's throw from the railway station that heads straight to Suvarnabhumi airport. We tested a room on the 24th floor: floor-to-ceiling windows over the urban chaos, light parquet, grey marble bathroom, firm king-size bed. Two rooftop pools (one for children), 800 m² spa with traditional Thai cabins, 24/7 gym. Service is efficient, never obsequious, Wi-Fi holds up throughout the hotel. From 159 € per night, it's excellent value for a 5★ connected to the public transport network. The Booking score of 9.5/10 from 8,607 reviews reflects the consistency: we sleep well, we leave quickly, we return gladly ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Eastin Grand to business travellers who want to avoid taxis and to families in transit to the South (Phuket, Krabi) without holing up in an airport hotel. Couples will appreciate the spa and pools, groups the flexibility of family rooms. It's a hotel for those who prioritise logistical efficiency without giving up comfort, not for fans of colonial charm or avant-garde design.
The building
Architecture and interiors
Contemporary 32-storey tower opened in 2012, blue-grey tinted glass facade typical of 2010s Bangkok. Double-height lobby with cream marble and dark wood panelling, glass panoramic lifts. Rooms from 32 to 85 m² depending on category, all with floor-to-ceiling windows. The architecture prioritises functionality: wide corridors, indirect LED lighting, silent air conditioning.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
Main restaurant on the 2nd floor serving international buffets morning, noon and evening (Thai, Japanese, Western cuisine). 31st-floor bar-lounge with classic cocktails and view over Victory Monument. Hearty breakfast included in most rates: made-to-order eggs station, dim sum, tropical fruits. 24/7 room service, decent menu without being memorable. We're in the register of efficient urban palace, not signature gastronomy.

Location & access
Where the hotel sits in Bangkok
The hotel stands on Phayathai Road, north-south artery linking the historic centre to business districts. BTS Phaya Thai station 30 seconds on foot, Siam Paragon three stops (eight minutes), Suvarnabhumi airport 30 minutes by direct Airport Rail Link. The neighbourhood is dense, noisy, without particular charm: hospitals, universities, shopping centres. We don't come here to stroll, but to radiate efficiently towards Sukhumvit, Silom or Rattanakosin. Pratunam and its textile markets fifteen minutes on foot.
