The Chedi Muscat stretches along the seafront on grounds planted with palm trees, far from the bustle of the city centre. The architecture, signed Jaya Ibrahim, plays the minimalism card: white walls, dark wood, clean lines. We stay here from 427 € a night, a rate that remains consistent with the 5-star standing of the establishment. The three pools, including an overflow pool of more than 100 metres, are the real selling point: few hotels in the region offer this aquatic scale. The spa completes the wellness offer, alongside a fitness centre. The private beach remains calm, without the agitation of neighbouring beach clubs. We simply regret the absence of precise information on the tables and their menu, a point to check before booking 😌.

Who is it for?

Who we recommend it to

We recommend this Chedi to couples seeking calm and clean design, far from flashy palaces. It is also a relevant address for families thanks to family rooms and generous outdoor space. Business travellers in transit in Mascate will find a restful setting here, provided they are not looking for nightlife.

The building

Architecture and interiors

The hotel was designed by architect designer Jaya Ibrahim, known for his pared-back Asian interiors adapted here to the Omani context. The volumes remain low, never more than two storeys, to preserve the sea view from the gardens. Dark wood, light stone and large water surfaces structure the whole, in a resolutely minimalist style. The beachfront location, surrounded by palm trees, gives the site an almost private estate scale rather than a classic hotel complex.

At the table

Restaurants, bar, service

The hotel has a restaurant, without details on the menu, the chef or any distinctions in the available data. Room service makes up for the lack of details on the culinary offer in the dining room. Without verified information on a signature table, we remain cautious before making it a booking argument.

Location & access

Where the hotel sits in Muscat

The Chedi Muscat is located in North Ghubra, a quiet residential district in the north-west of the Omani capital. The local seafront remains little urbanised, far from the bustle of the Mutrah souk or the city centre. Muscat International Airport is about twenty minutes by car, a distance covered by the hotel shuttle. The district suits those seeking tranquillity rather than street life.
