A contemporary resort perched on the heights of Arthurs Point, where alpine architecture meets New Zealand luxury facing the Remarkables.

“Thermal spa with panoramic views over Lake Wakatipu and the snow-capped peaks, heated pool open all year round.”
Coronet Ridge Resort occupies a promontory at Arthurs Point, ten minutes from Queenstown centre. The architecture plays on local wood, grey schist and large bay windows that frame the Remarkables like giant paintings. We tested a family suite: 48 m², New Zealand oak parquet, gas fireplace, private terrace facing the lake. The 600 m² thermal spa offers hammam, Scandinavian sauna and three treatment cabins with mountain view. The outdoor pool heated to 28°C operates even in winter, steam rising in the icy air. From 232 € per night, a coherent rate for a 5★ in New Zealand, especially with free private parking and Wi-Fi included. Our verdict: a solid address for families and couples who want the comfort of a resort without sacrificing quick access to the slopes and trails ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend Coronet Ridge to families seeking a comfortable base to explore Queenstown without staying in the town centre. Couples in their forties and beyond find the calm of Arthurs Point, the spa to unwind after hiking or skiing, and the flexibility of a resort with room service. Groups of skiing friends appreciate the free parking, spacious rooms and proximity to the Coronet Peak lifts.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The resort dates from 2016, contemporary alpine architecture signed by a Queenstown practice. Anthracite-grey local schist façades, pitched zinc roofs, wide cedar-wood terraces. Warm interiors: Wanaka stone on the floors of communal areas, exposed Douglas fir beams, bespoke New Zealand furniture. The 42 rooms and suites are spread over three levels, all with private balcony or terrace oriented towards the lake or mountains.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The Altitude restaurant offers a New Zealand bistro menu: Central Otago lamb, Fiordland salmon, Gibbston Valley wines. Continental buffet breakfast from 7am to 10:30am, with made-to-order egg station and house bread. The Ridgeline bar serves cocktails and tapas until 10pm, central fireplace and leather sofas facing the bay windows. Room service available 12h/24h, reduced menu after midnight.
