Andronis Luxury Suites occupies a series of white troglodyte houses clinging to the northern cliff of Oia, the most photographed village on Santorini. We bed down in suites carved into volcanic rock, hand-limed walls, barrel vaults, polished lava stone floors. Each room opens onto a private terrace with infinity pool, direct view of the caldera and volcanic islets. The spa offers outdoor massages, Greek olive oil treatments, rock-hewn hammam. The communal pool perches on the edge of the void, from 1 432 € a night in high season. Service remains discreet, efficient, never intrusive. We book for sunsets from our own pool, without sharing the spectacle with Oia's tourists ✨

Who is it for?

Who we recommend it to

We recommend Andronis to honeymoon or anniversary couples seeking seclusion without forgoing five-star service. It's an address for 30- to 60-year-old travellers accustomed to Mediterranean design hotels, ready to pay for a private pool and tranquillity. Families with young children will find the suspended terraces stressful, better to book elsewhere on the island.

The building

Architecture and interiors

The suites occupy former 19th-century captains' houses carved into the cliff, restored in 2008 then renovated in 2019. Traditional Cycladic architecture: barrel vaults, 80 cm-thick walls hand-limed every spring, local lava stone floors. Contemporary interiors by an Athenian studio: bespoke driftwood furniture, Coco-Mat linens, Thassos marble bathrooms. Suites measure 35 to 85 m², all with 20- to 40 m² private terraces and individual pools.

At the table

Short dinner menu, six starters and six mains, local catch fish, wines from Sigalas and Gavalas estates. Cocktail bar open until midnight, mixology with mastiha and ouzo. 24/7 room service, reduced menu after 23h.
