We slept in a suite carved into the pumice stone, hand-limed walls, bed facing the Aegean Sea. The infinity pool follows the natural curve of the rock, water heated from April to October. The restaurant serves contemporary Cycladic cuisine (catch of the day, Santorini tomatoes, fava), tables set on three cascading terraces. From 1 156 € the night, rate justified by the view and intimacy (only 24 rooms). Service is discreet, never intrusive. The hotel occupies a series of restored traditional Cycladic houses, hollowed into the cliffside using local troglodyte techniques. Clean white architecture, barrel vaults, polished lava stone floors, tiered terraces following the natural slope. The 24 rooms are spread over several levels connected by staircases hewn from the rock (no lift). Minimalist interiors: driftwood furniture, linen and cotton textiles, white tadelakt bathrooms.
