The Mondrian lands on the Croisette with its Californian aesthetic and its bay-facing rooftop.

“Rooftop with pool and bar facing the Mediterranean, one of the few in Cannes open to non-residents in the evening.”
The Mondrian Cannes occupies a modernist building at 45 boulevard de la Croisette, between the Palais des Festivals and the Carlton. We recognise the group's signature: clean lines, Saarinen furniture, palette of beiges and navy blues. The rooms play the Californian minimalism card, terrazzo floors, white marble bathrooms, some with sea-view balconies. The rooftop with infinity pool offers unobstructed views over the bay, bar open until midnight in season. The Carna restaurant serves Argentine-inspired grills, solid wine list. From 1 138 € a night, we pay for the address and the design, service remains perfectible according to our latest visits. An address that works for a festive weekend, less for a quiet stay ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
The Mondrian attracts a thirty- and forty-something crowd who come as much for the rooftop as for the room. We spot couples on festive weekends, groups of friends for a birthday, a few business travellers who prefer the lounge vibe to the Croisette's classic palaces. The hotel works less well for families or those seeking absolute calm.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Mondrian Cannes occupies a 1960s modernist building at 45 boulevard de la Croisette, renovated in 2022. Interiors by the Lore Group studio: clean lines, Saarinen furniture, beige and navy blue palette, terrazzo floors in the rooms. White marble bathrooms, some rooms with Mediterranean-facing balconies. The whole plays the Californian minimalism card, far from the gilded codes of the neighbouring palaces.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The Carna restaurant offers Argentine-inspired grills, aged meats, solid wine list focused on South America and the Rhône Valley. The rooftop bar serves cocktails and light bites until midnight in season, unobstructed bay views. Service correct but not memorable on our latest visits, the address bets more on atmosphere than gastronomy.
