The Cannes palace that saw the birth of the Festival, always on the front line on the Croisette.

“Private beach of 400 m² with restaurant feet in the water, facing the Palais des Festivals.”
Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes has occupied the most mythical stretch of the Croisette since 1926, and we feel the weight of history from the white marble lobby. The rooms blend revisited Art Deco and contemporary comfort, with wraparound balconies sea-facing (the corner suites offer a perspective to the Suquet). The rooftop pool, heated all year round, overlooks the palm trees and the comings and goings of yachts. The Diane Barrière spa unfolds 1 300 m² of plush cabins, hammam and glass-walled gym. Two restaurants including the Fouquet's Cannes for grills facing the waves, impeccable service even in full festival rush. We tested in May, dès 1 078 € the night, rate that skyrockets during the Festival but remains justified by the location and the standing. A palace that assumes its status as an institution without falling into nostalgia ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend Le Majestic to fortysomethings and fiftysomethings who want the Croisette without compromise, couples on luxury weekends, film professionals during the Festival. It's a palace for those who embrace the displayed standing, terrace dinners, rooftop pool afternoons. Families have their place there but the clientele remains mostly adult and international.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Majestic occupies a Belle Époque building from 1926, white façade with bow-windows facing the sea. Interiors revisited Art Deco in 2019, white marble in the lobby, lacquered woodwork, bespoke carpets. The 349 rooms range between 28 and 320 m² for the Penthouse suite, wraparound balconies Croisette-side. Contemporary decor that respects the historic structure without pastiche.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
Two tables at the Majestic : Fouquet's Cannes for grills and fish on the terrace feet in the water, impeccable service even in full festival rush. The B. Bar offers cocktails and snacking all day, sea view from the mezzanine. Copious buffet breakfast served until noon, in-room option available. We book the Fouquet's terrace three days ahead in high season.
