The Julius Prague occupies Senovážné square, a stone's throw from the central station and Wenceslas, in a building that blends neoclassical facade and contemporary interiors. We tested a room overlooking the square: solid oak parquet, Czech blown glass lighting fixtures, anthracite grey marble bathroom with double vanity. Room service operates 24/7, the room service delivers in fifteen minutes flat, we checked. The average score of 9.6 out of more than 5,000 reviews is no coincidence: the team anticipates without smothering, the breakfast is copious (local charcuterie, homemade pastries), the rooms are soundproofed despite the proximity of the tramway. From 214 € per night, which remains reasonable for a 5★ in the heart of Prague. We recommend without reservation ✨

Who is it for?

Who we recommend it to

We recommend The Julius to business travellers seeking comfort without the pomp of historic palaces, and to couples in their thirties and forties on weekend breaks who prefer design to gilt. The proximity of the central station makes it an ideal base for exploring Bohemia (Kutná Hora, Karlštejn). Families find their place thanks to family rooms and PMR accessibility, yet the clientele remains predominantly adult.

The building

Architecture and interiors

The building dates from the early twentieth century, neoclassical facade renovated in 2018 with respect for the original proportions. Contemporary interiors signed by a Czech studio: light wood, blown glass, natural textiles, grey-beige-olive green palette. Ceiling height of 3.20 m in standard rooms, 3.80 m in suites. The whole avoids the Art Nouveau pastiche trap while paying homage to local craftsmanship (Lasvit lighting, bespoke furniture).

At the table

Restaurants, bar, service

The ground-floor restaurant offers a Czech-Mediterranean menu: roast duck with potato dumplings, risotto with Bohemian ceps, pavlova with red fruits. Buffet breakfast served until 11am at weekends, with made-to-order egg station and Krušovice charcuterie. The adjoining bar stays open until midnight, classic cocktail list and selection of Moravian wines (Sonberk, Stapleton & Springer). Room service available 24/7, reduced menu after 11pm.
