The Four Seasons at Embarcadero bets everything on the bay view and impeccable service, in a financial district that empties in the evening.
Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco at Embarcadero
From
990.57 €
“Rooms on the 40th floor with full-frame bay windows over the Bay Bridge and Alcatraz, among the highest in San Francisco.”
The Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco at Embarcadero occupies the upper floors of a glass and steel tower in the Financial District, two blocks from the Ferry Building. We head straight to the 5th floor for the lobby, then the rooms climb up to the 40th: floor-to-ceiling bay windows, light wood flooring, grey marble in the bathrooms. The bay view justifies the rate from 991 € a night, especially the east side with the bridge and the island. The Four Seasons service runs like clockwork, discreet and anticipatory. The neighbourhood is dead after 19h, we take an Uber to North Beach or Mission. Booking score of 9,1/10 from 270 reviews, which remains solid for an American urban palace ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend this address to business travellers seeking a reliable palace in the Financial District, and to couples who prioritise the bay view over neighbourhood buzz. It is a hotel for those who already know San Francisco and seek absolute comfort after days of meetings or sightseeing. Families find their place thanks to the spacious rooms and polished service, yet the atmosphere stays resolutely adult and corporate.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Four Seasons occupies floors 5 to 17 of a postmodern 48-storey tower completed in 2001, designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli. Blue-green tinted glass façade, steel and concrete structure, total height 183 metres. Contemporary interiors by MBH Architects: Calacatta marble, American walnut, custom New Zealand wool carpets. The rooms rise to the 40th floor, some with 3,20-metre ceilings and projecting bow windows.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The MKT Restaurant & Bar on the 5th floor offers a modern Californian menu, produce from the Ferry Building Marketplace and Napa wines. Weekend breakfast buffet until 11am, Sunday brunch popular with locals. The bar serves classic cocktails and a selection of American whiskies until midnight. 24-hour room service with full menu, delivery in 35 minutes according to Four Seasons standards.
