The French Sofitel that understood Seoul: Parisian luxury in the Olympic district of Jamsil, a stone's throw from the Lotte World Tower.
Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel & Serviced Residences

“Indoor pool with view over the Gangnam skyline, open until 22h, and Sofitel MyBed spa in all rooms.”
The Sofitel Ambassador Seoul occupies a glass tower in Songpa-gu, business and leisure district in the south-east of Seoul. We appreciate the dual identity of the address: classic hotel on one side, serviced residences on the other, which explains the generous space in the rooms (from 38 m²). The interiors blend dark woodwork, light marbles and touches of red lacquer, Sofitel Asia signature without falling into pastiche. The pool on the 5ᵉ floor offers a clear view over the towers of Gangnam, rare in Seoul for a non-palace hotel. The spa offers Korean and French treatments, with hammam and sauna. From 245 € per night, it is a solid value for money for an international 5★ in this area. ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Sofitel Ambassador to business travellers who want space and a real spa after meetings in Gangnam, accessible in 15 minutes. Families appreciate the pool, the XXL rooms and the proximity to Lotte World (theme park 10 minutes on foot). It is also a good address for couples discovering Seoul and preferring a calm residential district to the chaos of Myeongdong, while keeping a direct metro to the centre.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Sofitel Ambassador occupies a contemporary 21-storey tower built in the 2000s, glass and steel architecture typical of modern Seoul. The common areas play on contrasts: double-height lobby with crystal chandeliers, corridors dressed in black and red lacquered panels. The rooms display a classic French style revisited for Asia, with dark parquet, padded headboards and beige marble bathrooms. The scale is generous, one feels the building was designed for long-stay residences as much as for hotel stays.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
Three tables at the Sofitel Ambassador: the Brasserie Française for hexagonal cuisine (foie gras, bouillabaisse, French wine list), the Kabuki for sushi and teppanyaki, the Lounge & Bar for afternoon teas and cocktails. The breakfast buffet blends Ladurée pastries, homemade kimchi and an egg station to order. Room service runs 24/7, full menu until midnight. We regret that the Brasserie lacks a little character, correct cooking but without strong signature, the Kabuki is more convincing.
