The Palazzo Gori Pannilini dates from the early 17th century, enlarged in the 18th. Hall of honour beneath vaults painted by Vincenzo Rustici, pupil of Pietro da Cortona. Monumental staircase in serena stone, ceiling heights of 4.5 metres. The rooms retain original parquet, wood panelling, damask fabrics. Progressive renovation since the acquisition by Starhotels in 2001.

Siena has no metro, everything is done on foot in the pedestrian zone. Railway station 2 km below, bus shuttle every 15 minutes.
