Domes Miramare, a Luxury Collection Resort occupies a promontory on the south-east of Corfu, in Moraitika, an unpretentious but well-placed beach village. We tested in June, European clientele in their thirties to fifties, intimate vibe without being stuffy. The rooms adopt a contemporary Mediterranean style, white and blue tones, private terraces facing the sea, bedding adequate without being exceptional. The 1,200 m² spa offers hammam, sauna, treatment cabins, heated indoor pool, rates aligned with Luxury Collection standards. We recommend Domes Miramare to couples seeking a child-free beach resort, for a week of lounging or a honeymoon without too much ceremony. The clientele is mostly European, fortysomethings and up, here for the Ionian sun and the spa. Travellers seeking authentic Greekness will prefer a boutique hotel in Paléokastritsa, those wanting a historic palace will head to Corfu Palace in town.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The resort was built in the 2000s, renovated in 2019 under the Luxury Collection banner. Low architecture, white volumes stepped across the hill, flat roofs, wooden pergolas. Contemporary Mediterranean interiors, light marble, Greek designer furniture, neutral tones lifted by cobalt blue. Rooms from 35 to 120 m² for the suites, all with private sea-facing terrace or balcony.

Restaurants, bar, service
The main restaurant, Makris, offers a Mediterranean menu with a Greek accent, local produce, terrace service facing the sea. The Topos Bar serves cocktails and snacks by day, DJ sets some summer evenings. Copious buffet breakfast, continental and Greek options, 24/7 room service available. The cooking is solid without being gastronomic, we're in standard high-end resort territory.

Location & access
Where the hotel sits in Corfu
Moraitika lies on Corfu's east coast, 20 km south of Corfu town and its airport. The village is beach-focused, a few tavernas and shops, family feel in summer, quiet off-season. Moraitika beach stretches 2 km, sand and pebbles, clear waters. To see Corfu town, Paléokastritsa or Kassiopi, hire a car, public transport is limited. The resort is remote, you come to stay on site.
