We slept in a room in sand and linen tones, bathed in Atlantic light, bleached oak floor, Carrara marble bathroom. The rooftop pool offers an unobstructed view over the ocean and the Biarritz lighthouse, teak loungers, cocktail service until 8pm. The spa offers signature massages and Biologique Recherche treatments, intimate cabins, Moroccan zellige hammam. The service is attentive without being stiff, we sense the family management. From 790 € per night, rate justified by the view, the quality of the finishes and the rarity of the address (only 12 rooms). ✨

Architecture and interiors

Art déco villa from the 1930s entirely renovated in 2019, perched on the Tamames hill with commanding ocean views. Contemporary interiors signed by a Parisian firm: natural tones, light wood, limestone, large picture windows. Twelve rooms spread over three levels, between 28 and 45 m², all with private terrace or balcony. Rooftop fitted with overflow pool, teak deck, bioclimatic pergola.

Gastronomic restaurant open midday and evening, basco-Mediterranean cuisine by chef Julien Duboué (trained with Ducasse). Short menu renewed according to the Saint-Jean-de-Luz market, fine selection of South-West wines. Breakfast served on the terrace or in room, local products (Kintoa ham, Ossau-Iraty cheese, Miot jams). Cocktail bar on the ground floor, open to the outdoors, hushed atmosphere after 7pm.

Beaumanoir occupies avenue de Tamames, a quiet residential artery on the southern heights of Biarritz, 400 metres from the Grande Plage. Well-heeled and green neighbourhood, Belle Époque villas, little car traffic. Historic centre and Halles ten minutes on foot, Rocher de la Vierge fifteen. Biarritz-Pays basque airport 4 km (private shuttle on request), SNCF station 3 km. The neighbourhood falls asleep early, ideal for calm, less so for nightlife.
