Two distinct pools and an included airport shuttle, rare for a boutique hotel of this size.

The Shinta Mani Angkor occupies a quiet street in the Mondul 2 district, a few minutes' walk from the Siem Reap river. We often arrive there at the end of the day, when the light skims the two pools and cuts out the silhouettes of the palm trees on the water. The establishment cultivates an identity as a boutique hotel rather than a sprawling resort, with a deliberately limited number of rooms. The spa and wellness centre occupies a central place in the experience, conceived as a natural extension of the pools rather than a mere ancillary service. Expect around 364 € per night, a rate that remains in the upper range for Siem Reap but is explained by the level of service and the rating of 9.6/10 from 692 reviews. The free airport shuttle and private parking simplify arrival, a real plus in a city where distances are mostly negotiated by tuk-tuk. We regret the lack of clear indication of a signature gastronomic table, the hotel clearly betting more on wellness than on the plate 😌.

Who is it for?

Who we recommend it to

We recommend the Shinta Mani Angkor to couples and solo travellers who want a calm base to explore Angkor without sacrificing comfort on the return. Families find their place thanks to the family rooms and the two pools, without the hotel becoming a noisy resort. Wellness and spa enthusiasts will happily spend an entire day there between two temple visits.

The building

Architecture and interiors

The architecture plays on low volumes and integration into the tropical landscape rather than height or ostentatious grandeur. The materials evoke the contemporary Asian boutique-hotel style, with attention paid to natural light and the outdoors. Two pools structure the space and serve as a visual landmark between the different buildings. The whole remains on a human scale, far from the standardised hotel complexes of the region.

The city centre, its night markets and Pub Street are accessible on foot or in a few minutes by tuk-tuk.
