The only palace in Sydney that gazes at the Opera House from its rooftop pool.

“All rooms overlook the harbour or the Opera House, without exception.”
The Park Hyatt Sydney boasts the best square metre of harbourfront, at Dawes Point, between the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. We bed down facing Jørn Utzon’s sails, some rooms three metres from the water. The interiors play understated contemporary Australian: blonde wood, limestone, floor-to-ceiling windows. The rooftop heated pool offers the same view as the suites, minus the price tag. The spa occupies 200 m² at garden level, treatment rooms with harbour views. From 698 € a night, which remains reasonable for this address. We recommend a minimum Opera View room, other categories lose the main appeal ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Park Hyatt to travellers who come to Sydney for the postcard views and are willing to pay for the vista. It’s a hotel for couples on anniversary trips, fortysomethings on luxury city breaks, business travellers who want to impress without leaving the CBD. Families find their place here (pool, spacious rooms), but the clientele remains predominantly adult and international.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Park Hyatt occupies a contemporary eight-storey building constructed in 1990, renovated in 2012. Discreet architecture in limestone and glass, integrated into the historic waterfront of The Rocks. Interiors by Bates Smart: clean lines, natural materials (Australian rosewood, granite, Hawkesbury limestone). 155 rooms and suites between 45 and 245 m², all with private balcony or terrace.
At the table
Restaurants, bar, service
The The Dining Room serves contemporary Australian cuisine (local produce, subtle Asian influence) in a glass-walled room facing the harbour. Generous buffet breakfast, we recommend the local seafood. The The Living Room offers afternoon tea and evening cocktails, Opera House views from the sofas. 24/7 room service, full menu until midnight.
