The former hôtel particulier of Prince Roland Bonaparte, facing the Eiffel Tower, converted into an Asian palace by the Shangri-La group.

“Frontal view of the Eiffel Tower from 60 % of the rooms, with Second Empire-era sculpted stone balconies.”
The Shangri-La Paris occupies the former hôtel particulier of Prince Roland Bonaparte, built in 1896 at 10 avenue d'Iéna. We sleep in rooms with listed mouldings, some with wrought-iron balconies overlooking the Iron Lady 400 metres away. Materials blend Carrara marble, Asian silks and original Versailles parquetry. The spa's indoor pool bathes in a soft light, with golden mosaics and treatment cabins using oriental oils. The restaurant La Bauhinia serves fusion cuisine under an Art Nouveau glass roof, while L'Abeille holds two Michelin stars. From 2 916 € a night, we pay as much for the heritage as for the view, and the service matches the price. Our verdict: a palace that embraces its dual French and Asian heritage without a false note ✨
Who is it for?
Who we recommend it to
We recommend the Shangri-La to travellers seeking a Parisian palace without the Versailles label of local institutions. Affluent international clientele, honeymoon or anniversary couples, executives on the move who want the Eiffel view without haggling. Families find their place here, but the atmosphere remains hushed, adult, ceremonial.
The building
Architecture and interiors
The Prince Roland Bonaparte hôtel particulier dates from 1896, Second Empire façade listed as a Historic Monument. Interiors redesigned in 2010 by Pierre-Yves Rochon: original mouldings, Versailles parquetry, Carrara marble in the bathrooms. Asian silks and Chinese lacquers rub shoulders with French stucco. Rooms between 35 and 220 m², sculpted stone balconies on avenue d'Iéna.
