The **Shangri-La Paris** occupies the former hôtel particulier of Prince Roland Bonaparte, built in 1896 at 10 avenue d'Iéna. We bed down in rooms with listed mouldings, some with wrought-iron balconies overlooking the Iron Lady 400 metres away. Materials blend Carrara marble, Asian silks and original Versailles parquets. The spa’s indoor pool bathes in a soft light, with golden mosaics and treatment cabins using oriental oils. The La Bauhinia restaurant serves fusion cuisine under an Art Nouveau glass roof, while L'Abeille has earned two Michelin stars. From **2 916 €** a night, we pay as much for the heritage as for the view, and the service lives up to the price. Our verdict: a palace that embraces its dual French and Asian heritage without a false note ✨
