Park Rotana Abu Dhabi

We send here business travellers who chain meetings in the neighbouring towers, families in transit before a long-haul flight, expats who receive relatives. It is a hotel for those who favour efficiency and comfort over a prestigious address. Couples on a romantic city break will prefer seafront properties, yet for a practical stay at a modest price, the Park Rotana does the job.

Contemporary glass and concrete tower, typical of Abu Dhabi hotel architecture from the 2000s. Double-height lobby with marble flooring, geometric chandeliers, sober designer furniture. The rooms occupy some fifteen floors, panoramic windows overlooking the city or the inner gardens. No historic cachet, yet a generous scale: wide corridors, swift lifts, airy common spaces.

The Park Rotana counts several tables: an international restaurant for breakfast buffets (eggs to order, fresh juice station), an Italian address, a steakhouse, a Lebanese lounge. We tested the morning buffet, copious and well stocked (correct pastries, fresh fruit, Indian corner). Room service runs 24h, international menu without surprise. Nothing memorable, yet consistency is assured.

The Park Rotana stands on Al Salam Street, at the junction of the Eastern Ring Road, the thoroughfare that crosses Abu Dhabi from east to west. We are 15 minutes by car from the international airport, 20 minutes from the seafront and the Corniche. Business and residential district, office towers and compounds, little pedestrian life. A taxi is indispensable to reach the tourist sites (Grand Mosque 25 minutes, Louvre Abu Dhabi 35 minutes). The neighbourhood is quiet in the evening, secure, without particular charm.
